Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats by T. S. Eliot is a collection of poems that introduces a range of imaginative and memorable cat characters. Each poem describes a different cat and their personality, using language, rhythm, and rhyme. The book has allowed Year 3 to enjoy poetry, develop their expression and truly become immersed in their performance of The Song of the Jellicles, which they shared with their peers. The children worked together to learn the poem, practise their expression, and perform confidently in front of an audience.
