The Scarecrow’s Wedding

Our Reception children have been thoroughly enjoying The Scarecrows’ Wedding as part of our Talk4Writing journey this half term. The story has captured the imaginations of our children and provided a wonderful foundation for storytelling, creativity, and play.

To bring the tale to life, they spent a lovely morning outdoors in the sunshine, using props and their imaginations to recreate the story of Harry O’Hay and Betty O’Barley. The children loved stepping into character and retelling key parts of the story, from the wedding preparations to the final celebration.

It was lovely to see the children so engaged - acting out scenes, using expressive language, and working together to bring the story alive.
