Stories in the Sunshine

This week, our EYFS children have been making the most of the beautiful sunny weather by spending time in our outdoor classroom. Keeping cool in the shade, they discovered cosy corners where they could relax, unwind and enjoy sharing books with their friends.

The children loved choosing their favourite stories, whether revisiting familiar books they know and love or exploring exciting new adventures. It was wonderful to hear them talking about the illustrations, discussing the characters and predicting what might happen next. These conversations helped to develop their language skills while bringing stories to life through their imaginations.

Reading outdoors has provided a calm and inviting environment where the children can enjoy books in a different setting, nurturing their confidence, creativity and growing love of reading. Moments like these encourage a lifelong enjoyment of books while showing that reading can happen anywhere.

There is something truly magical about finding a shady spot, opening a favourite book and getting lost in a story with friends. We are so proud of the enthusiasm our young readers have shown this week!
