School Library
This week, Year 2 enjoyed a special visit to our school library as part of our ongoing focus on developing a love of reading. The children were excited to explore the shelves and choose from a range of fiction and non-fiction books. There was a real buzz in the library as the children settled down to read, with some choosing to read quietly on their own while others enjoyed sharing books and discussing stories with their friends.
The visit gave the children a great opportunity to discover new authors, learn interesting facts from non-fiction texts and spend time enjoying books in a calm and welcoming environment. Many of the children were keen to talk about the stories they had chosen and recommend books to their classmates.
It was also a fantastic way to prepare the children for an exciting event next week. On Monday, we will be welcoming our local librarian from Wythenshawe Library, who will be visiting the school to talk to the children about libraries and the wonderful world of books. The children are already looking forward to meeting the librarian and finding out more about how they can continue their reading journey beyond the classroom.
