Here We Are

Aliens landed on our playground! They wanted to learn all about life on Earth, so as a school we decided to help them by reading Here We Are: Notes for Living on Planet Earth by Oliver Jeffers. This wonderful story shows what makes our planet so special and reminds us to take care of it — and each other. 

In Year 1, we’ve been exploring the Day and Night page. We’ve been reading and writing about what happens on Earth when the sun shines and when the moon comes out. We talked about what people and animals do during the day and at night and helped the aliens understand why our planet changes as it spins around the sun! 

We’ve loved using Here We Are to learn more about our world — and to share it with our new friends from outer space!
