Favourite Books

In Year 2, we absolutely love spending time choosing books from our class library. Reading is an important part of our day and the children really enjoy exploring the shelves, sharing recommendations with their friends and discovering new authors and stories. Everyone has their own current favourite and these often change as exciting new books are introduced!

Some of the books the children have been particularly enjoying recently include:

  • Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers – a thoughtful and beautifully illustrated book that sparks lots of discussion

  • Breakfast Club Adventures by Marcus Rashford – a fast-paced and exciting story that keeps readers hooked

  • The Adventures of Tintin: Red Rackham’s Treasure by Hergé – a classic adventure full of mystery and action

It’s wonderful to see the children developing their love of reading, gaining confidence in choosing books independently and talking enthusiastically about the stories they enjoy. Our class library is a much-loved space and we look forward to discovering many more favourite books as the year continues.
