EYFS Reading Outdoors

Rain or shine, we love reading outdoors in EYFS!

Our children enjoy exploring books in our outdoor reading area, looking closely at the pictures and talking about what they can see. They love sharing their ideas, pointing out interesting details and chatting with their friends about the characters and stories.

Reading outdoors provides lots of opportunities to develop communication, vocabulary, listening skills and a love of books, while encouraging children to use their imaginations and share their own ideas.

It’s wonderful to see our little readers becoming more confident as they explore books together and discover that every story can lead to a new conversation, idea or adventure!
