Christmas Book Fair

Year 1 spent time this week exploring a wide variety of exciting books at the Usborne Christmas book fair and created a wish list of their top three favourites. The children loved browsing through all the different titles and their enthusiasm for reading really shone through. They eagerly shared recommendations with their friends, chatted about the stories and characters that caught their eye and took great care in choosing the books that appealed to them most.

Back in the classroom, the children discussed what makes a book engaging — from vibrant illustrations to intriguing blurbs — and reflected on why their chosen titles stood out. It was wonderful to see how confidently they talked about their reading preferences and how much joy they found in discovering new stories.

By the end of the day, several children were so inspired that they came back to the book fair with their grown up and buy some books of their own books to enjoy at home. We hope their new selections spark even more excitement for reading and continue to nurture their growing love of books.
