Ducks!

In Year 1 we have started to create a fact file all about ducks. Earlier in the week we had a special delivery of eggs, we started by discussing and researching different animals that lay eggs and then read the book 'Farmer Duck by Martin Waddell' and looked at the environment of a duck. The children have been gathering information by going to the school library and finding books with ducks in and discussing what they have found. We have also been finding facts as a class and creating a text map and actions to help us remember key facts.

Orla told the class - “Ducks can be found everywhere except for Antarctica”.

George told the class - “Male ducks are bigger and are more colourful that female ducks”.

Aurora told the class - “Ducks fly in a V shape”
